Dubai: Kanoo Travel announced that it is partnering with STA Travel in Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE to capitalise on the expanding student and youth travel market in the region.

Through this partnership, STA Travel, the world's biggest travel agency in the youth and student market, will have a wider presence in the Middle East and will be able to offer exclusive products and competitive prices on airfares, hotels and holidays.

STA Travel's agreements with a large number of the world's best airlines, hotel and adventure tour operators will also ensure that customers can create bespoke around-the-world and point to point trips, comparable to no other travel agency or tour operator in the area.

Market leader

The Kanoo family's involvement in air travel goes back to 1937 when the company provided refuelling facilities in Bahrain for Imperial Airways seaplanes en route to India and Australia.

In 1947 Kanoo Travel became the first IATA agency in the Gulf and in 1997 they became the first travel company in the Middle East to receive ISO certification.
