Dubai: Sony has added Cyber-Shot camera technology, Bravia’s Triluminos display technology and NFC into its smartphones last year and this year the company is adding personal audio and PlayStation 4 capabilities.

The Z2 has a 5.2-inch IPS (in-plane switching) display and is powered by 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage capacity.

The water and dust-resistant device runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system with 20.7MP rear camera capable of 4K recording, slow-motion video, and adding real-time effects and a 2MP front camera. It is priced at Dh2,699.

“Z2 has a built-in noise cancellation technology which reduces noise by up to 98 per cent when paired with Sony’s digital noise cancellation headset. The outward-facing microphones on the two ear pieces pick up background noise and send the signals for processing on Z2. The signal processor inverts the noise’s phase by creating an anti-noise wave,” said Izzat Kittaneh, director of business management and pricing at Sony Mobile Communications Middle East and Africa.
