DUBAI: Huawei’s first foray into the world of smart band — TalkBand B1 — is not only a wearable device that tracks users’ active life by monitoring the steps taken, calories burnt, caller ID and number display, and the sleep patterns but can also be used as a Bluetooth headset.
It is extremely thin and weighs just one gram and the curved design fits on the wrist with ease.
TalkBand B1 has a 1.4-inch OLED screen and when the screen is popped out of the band, it is a fully-blown Bluetooth earpiece. It connects to the smartphone via NFC pairing.
It is dust and water resistance and can be immersed in water for 30 minutes.
The band connects to the smartphone by downloading the Huawei TalkBand app from the Apple or Google app stores.
The device is compatible with Android 4.0 and above and iOS 5.0 and above and the 95mAh battery can stand almost six days of use with only a 2-hour charge. It is priced at Dh499.
