New York: If the HTC One M8 wasn’t enough innovation for one year, the Taiwanese company continued 2014 with four more important announcements at its "Double Exposure" Launch in New York on Wednesday evening.

Together with an advanced imaging software, the HTC Eye Experience, and a collaborative video-editing tool in the form of the Zoe application, the company also launched the HTC Desire Eye smartphone and the RE, a powerful mini-camera.

The HTC Eye Experience is a mobile imaging software that features a range of new features such as face-tracking during video chats, a split-capture function that combines simultaneous photos and videos taken from the front and back cameras into one split-screen image or video, and voice activated selfies. Zoe is a collaborative video-editing app that allows users to mix their photos and videos into highlight reels while allowing friends to further add to their existing content.

Speaking to Gulf News after the launch, Nikitas Glykas, Regional Director of HTC South Eastern Europe and the Middle East, said, "The Middle East, along with the UK and Germany, are part of HTC's first-range market and all our products will be launched at the same time. The software roll-out that features the new HTC Eye Experience will arrive before the end of the month for the M8 and will be made available to other HTC models together with the Android L update."

"The RE will be priced at approx. Dh840 and the new Desire EYE will be priced at approx. Dh2,099. Both devices will be available from the middle of November onward," added Glykas.
