Gitex Shopper 2013 to be held in October

Dubai: Next year’s Gitex Shopper will be held from October 5-12 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

“We have positioned next year’s event in such a way just before the Eid Al Adha and at the same time when people get their salaries before a shopping spree,” Hemesh Chandavarkar, industry group manager at the Dubai World Trade Centre, organisers of Gitex Shopper, said.

This is the first year “we have to moved the DWTC, there will a lot of briefing, de-briefing and understanding about the event.”

Lot of brands which have not participated directly with us “will have seen this event as a great success and we look forward to get them next year.”

“LG has taken part for the first time this year. Next year, we expect more international brands because it is a great platform for them to launch their new devices.”

The event is growing bigger as the crowd turns more tech-savvy.

“From our perspective, we will see trends improving. I can assure you that next year will be much better than this year,” he said.

The consumer is the winner at the end because they get a “lot of bargains and add-ons,” Chandavarkar added.
