Abu Dhabi: Etisalat yesterday launched its Three Dimension (3D) TV service, marking a progress in home entertainment that now gives its eLife triple play and e-vision customers the chance to watch 3D TV at home.

Starting today, etisalat will provide 3D TV to all its triple play eLife customers and to e-vision customers without any additional fee at this stage. All customers subscribed to any of these service packages can now enjoy viewing TV in high quality 3D on their 3D enabled TV sets.

In the first phase, etisalat customers can watch Al Jazeera's 3D channel which broadcasts sport activities from around the world. They will also broadcast the 2010 FifaWorld Cup.

"The launch of HD technology was a milestone for etisalat and was met with due to the huge customer demand. Today, as we launch the 3D service, we herald a new era of home entertainment in the UAE," said Khalifa Al Shamsi, senior vice-president of marketing.

Telecast: du joins 3d fray too

Proving its place as a provider of innovative and cutting-edge home entertainment service provider, du today became the first company in the MENA region to offer 3-D TV for all its customers. In a move which demonstrates the company's commitment to offer the best in entertainment to its subscribers, all du TV customers starting today can watch 3-D TV on channel 699 under the basic TV package.
