Dubai: Director General of the Fujairah Free Zone, Sharif Habib Al Awadhi, and Abdul Aziz Taryam, Advisor to CEO of Etisalat (Emirates Telecommunications Corporation), on Tuesday signed a strategic partnership agreement which allows Etisalat to deliver advanced telecom and ICT services to Fujairah Free Zone tenants with direct access to Etisalat services.

“The agreement enables Etisalat implement global best practices to meet the telecommunication and ICT requirements of the free zone, and meet specific current and future growth objectives of the Fujairah Free Zone,” Etisalat said in a statement.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Shaikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Director of the Department of eGovernment of Fujairah, and Etisalat’s CEO, Saleh Al Abdooli, on the sidelines of GITEX Technology Week.

Abdul Aziz Taryam commented, “In cooperation with the Fujairah Free Zone, we are keen on meeting specific business needs of companies based in the free zone and enable higher efficiencies by delivering world-class ICT and telecom services.”

Sharif Habib Al Awadhi said, “We are keen to benefit from Etisalat’s vast experience in the field of telecommunications and ICT services. An agreement of this nature with the largest operator in the Middle East will help us apply the latest, most advanced ICT solutions, consequently creating value for tenants of the free zone and creating a favourable environment for international companies to do business here.”

The weeklong event will also see Etisalat forge strategic partnerships with local, regional and international partners.
