Dubai: Collaboration, Management and Control Solutions (CMCS), a provider of project portfolio management solutions in the Mena region, has announced its expansion in the European market via the opening of an office in Rome.
The new office aims to generate 2.5 million euros (Dh12.4 million) in sales revenue within the first three years of operation in its bid to become the leading player in the Italian project management market.
CMCS Italy is a joint venture between CMCS International, which is based in the UAE, and the Italian entrepreneur Dr Edoardo Narduzzi who has more than 15 years of local market experience. Narduzzi, a London Business School and Harvard University graduate, will be the CEO of the Italy office operation, while Bassam Samman, founder of CMCS, will be the chairman.
"Our goal is to become a leading local player in Italy, which represents an exciting market for CMCS in Southern Europe and a gateway to other European markets such as Spain, Greece, Portugal, France, Slovenia, Albania, Austria and Switzerland. These are the key markets that we plan to venture into eventually by leveraging our core competence in two main business sectors construction and oil and gas," said Narduzzi.
He also pointed out that the new development gives CMCS the opportunity to benefit from offshoring part of the European activities to Dubai and other CMCS offices in the Mediterranean and Gulf.
CMCS Italy will also offer competitive tariffs to Italian customers in the field of specialised training, Narduzzi said.
"Our expansion is based on a recent study which reveals that project portfolio management in Italy is under-supplied. More skilled and referenced professionals are needed while the demand is growing due to complex projects," he said.
