Dubai: BlackBerry said that it is working with regional telecom operators and regulators to launch its virtual SIM feature to add value to its devices.

“The technology is already available in some countries and allows users to have multiple mobile numbers under one SIM card for both personal and business use,” Mike Al Mefleh, ‎senior director for Product Management and Platform, Software and Services at BlackBerry Middle East, North Africa and Turkey, told Gulf News.

He said the firm had acquired Movirtu, a virtual identity solutions provider, in September to strengthen its enterprise customer offerings, with separate billing for voice, data and messaging usage on each number. People can switch between personal and business profiles without changing multiple SIM cards.
