Dubai: Need an instant primer on how to take care of the newest member to your family? Or are you looking for whatever is trending in bringing them up? Then the “Baby&Child” magazine might have the answers you seek.

GN Publishing has come with the quarterly magazine “dedicated to all parenting topics ranging from pregnancy to pre-school in the UAE”.

Doing so represents a natural extension of the “Aquarius Baby” supplement that it has had since May 2014 as well as those carried out under the monthly “Mummy Morning” events calendar. That apart, there is the daily social media content and website content on www.babyandchild.ae.

“We know what our readers want as we are engaging with them every month,” said Katie Heskett, publisher. “With 80,000 babies born in the UAE every year, there is a lot of support needed for new parents, and we’re excited that Baby&Child will be able to part of their journey as a family.

“For the past two years, we have been talking to our Baby&Child audience, either through the pages of Aquarius Baby or at our monthly Mummy Mornings.”

The Baby&Child magazine, with a cover price of Dh20, has gone on sale from Wednesday and is available at leading bookstores and supermarkets.

“Parenting is such a huge topic in the UAE and [with] an average spend of up to Dh25,000 before the baby even arrives,” said Heskett. “But if you look at the parenting market, there is a real lack of honest and open advice on offer to new parents, and even more importantly, a desperate need for community support for those first few days, weeks and months after you give birth.

“When we launched Aquarius Baby in May 2014 as a supplement of Aquarius — we thought there might be interest, but from the very start our readers and mums were asking us for more. More features, content, events and opportunities to connect with other new mums who were raising their own families so far away from their own.

“Two years later, here we are launching the first parenting lifestyle magazine devoted to raising families in the UAE. We have experts and fellow mums sharing all their advice and support.”

GN Publishing is the specialist media division of Al Nisr Publishing, which also owns ‘Gulf News’.
