Dubai: GN Magazines has unveiled its digital publishing programme with the launch of applications for alpha. and Aquarius magazines. The digital applications add a new dimension to the print content, offering media-rich experiences and high levels of user interactivity, according to a senior spokesperson.

"The launch of our digital publishing strategy is a milestone for the group and the first step towards ensuring our magazine brands are available to readers in their medium of choice," said Adrian Pickstock, publishing director of GN Magazines.

Pickstock said the group intends to launch applications for all its titles over the next few months, dovetailing with roll-outs across other media, including online and mobile.

Kate Birch, editor of Aquarius, said, "I'm so excited to be launching the first women's lifestyle magazine app in the UAE, which brings smart solutions straight to your fingertips. In addition to the usual style solutions, best beauty buys and expert advice on everything from careers to health, Aquarius Edit will offer exclusive content each month, as well as extra photos and tips.

"The Aquarius Edit app brings all our features to life with its interactive tools, making reading Aquarius more fun and accessible on your tablet, wherever you are."

The alpha. select and Aquarius edit applications are available from Apple's App Store and the Android Market free of charge.

"alpha. select is the best bits of our print magazine presented as an interactive tablet edition," said alpha. editor Nitin Nair. "If you've picked up the print edition in the past, you should be familiar with the sections here. If you are a first-time reader, this should give you a fair idea of how much fun our print version is."
