Victoria Beckham is considering an offer to help design a luxury hotel in Dubai, according to UK media reports.

The fashion icon, former pop star and wife of footballer David, was reportedly offered a jaw-dropping £25million (Dh148 million) to put her name to the hotel as well as have a say on the design of everything from the wardrobes to furnishings.

The hotel would be on Isla Moda, a fashion-themed island on The World which, it was announced in 2007, was being developed with the help of top designer Karl Lagerfeld.

The Mirror, a daily tabloid newspaper in the UK, reported that Beckham, known as Posh, received an email requesting her presence on the project.

The report, published today quoted a source close to the deal who said: "After meeting virtually the entire back catalogue of Who's Who in Dubai last summer, she received an email… asking her to get involved with the project. She was asked to put her name to the hotel and help with everything from room design to the make of the wardrobes and furnishings."

Posh has apparently not yet decided whether to sign up. The insider went on: "The parties have been emailing each other for a number of months. The sum offered was incredible and Victoria obviously loves Dubai."

The report went on to say: "The other stumbling block is time. As ever, she is simply so busy being a mum and tied down with her own fashion collection. It's a very tempting offer, nonetheless."

On Monday a spokeswoman for Posh told The Mirror that Beckham "is always keen to look at ways of growing her business but for now her focus is New York fashion week next month".
