Beirut: Bahrain's overall exports of crude and refined oil products totalled $5.6 billion (Dh20.5 billion) in the first half of 2010, with each of the first two quarters of the year contributing $2.8 billion, Manama-based Al Wasat reported yesterday citing official data.

The country's crude oil output from the Bahrain oil field and the Abu Saafa field dropped slightly to about 32.7 million barrels in the first half from about 32.9 million barrels in the year earlier period, the paper reports.

The daily, which is citing data by Bahrain's Central Informatics Organisation and the country's National Oil and Gas Authority, says that the average price of one barrel of crude oil was $77 on global markets during the first half. Bahrain exports its share of crude oil, amounting to 150,000 barrels a day, in the Abu Saafa field which it is developing jointly with Saudi Arabia.
