A new 13-member board has been constituted for a two-year term at the UAE Chapter of the International Advertising Association, which is again headed by Dr. Lance de Masi, president of American University in Dubai.

“Given that so many board members have been re-elected, it is only natural that there will be a continuity of vision and agenda,” said Masi. “As a fan of renewal, however, I am encouraged by the unique talents and perspectives of the new members.

“It isn’t too early to talk about legacy — this will be a board that will tackle industry issues, reach out to young professionals and creatives and make strides in diversifying IAA membership.”

Among the elected board are three new members: Mounir Harfouche, CEO Lowe Mena; Hani Ghorayeb, managing director AMS - Choueiri Group; and Fadi Ghosn, chief marketing officer at General Motors - Middle East Operations. Also on the Board is Rajeev Khanna, group advertisement manager at Gulf News.

The UAE Chapter has a current membership of more than 150 companies. For 2013-15, Nassib Boueri, CEO (Mena) at Wunderman will be the vice-president; Reda Raad, chief operating officer at TBWA/Raad assumes the title of secretary; and the treasurer’s mantle is with Douglas Palau, who is the vice-president of Impact BBDO.
