Dubai: The publisher of the One Million Companies Directory, Dan & Bradstreet, will bring out a listing of the top 100 companies in the Gulf.

The rankings in the first GCC Achievers League will cut across six sectors — banking, finance and investments, manufacturing, services, real estate and construction.

The ranking criteria will be the weighted composite score of four financial parameters: income, net profit, shareholders equity and total assets for the financial year ending December 2011. After ranking the companies based on the respective weights of the four financial parameters, a list of 100 top companies will be drawn comprising the six sectors.

"Dun & Bradstreet is known globally for its largest commercial database of 200 million businesses," said Manjeet Chhabra, general manger at Dun & Bradstreet South Asia and Middle East.

"We have successfully launched such publications in various countries and are enthusiastic to finally have a GCC Top 100 companies ranking. The companies that will be profiled are leaders in their respective sectors and the publication will provide them an international platform."
