Dubai: With March 31 the deadline for aspirants to submit their credentials, interest in The Entrepreneur reality show is building up nicely.

The eight-part programme is scheduled to go on the air on Dubai One during the third quarter.

Du, in tandem with Dubai One and Sony Entertainment, is helming the series, designed to foster talent and bring attention to entrepreneurs in the UAE.

Aspirants must be older than 18 and resident in the UAE to be considered.

They must also have a business licence and must try to get accredited through www.theentrepreneur.ae.

Ten contestants will be put through a series of challenges and competitions.

"The UAE is brimming with fantastic entrepreneurial talent which just needs a platform to take it to the next level," said Hala Badri, executive vice-president for brand and communications at du.

Winner to get coaching

"The Entrepreneur aims to empower and support the new breed of UAE entrepreneurs that build new enterprises which are innovative, sustainable and, most importantly, contribute meaningfully towards the social development of communities."

The winner of the show stands to receive Dh1 million in funding and services such as office space, mentoring and PR for a period of 12 months. Surely, that's a lot to play for.
