Dubai: Shortly after take off on Friday from Durban's King Shaka International Airport, Emirates flight EK776 experienced a technical issue which resulted in the aircraft, an Airbus A330-200, returning to Durban, an  Emirates spokesperson said.

Reports said that the flight's pilot had to shut down the right hand engine after noticing low oil pressure.

"All of the passengers were accommodated in a hotel while a recovery aircraft was dispatched to Durban," Emirates said.

The flight finally reached Dubai on Sunday, with a total delay of 27.5 hours.
