Gaming season is in full swing with the same-day release on September 29 of two major football game updates, Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 and Fifa 2012, and this weekend's Games 11 event.

The gaming convention, described by organisers as the largest in the region, begins tomorrow at Dubai Mall ice rink and will see gamers gathering until Saturday. The free event will include a tournament, giveaways and stands from local games distributors and the chance to try out new games before they are released.

Games distributor Pluto will have a flight simulator at its stand, as well as hosting the first official Capcom tournament in the region, the Capcom Gulf Championship, with gamers battling in three titles from the gaming developer, including Marvel vs. Capcom, Super Street Fighter Arcade Edition and Street Fighter Third Strike.

Winners will be presented with an official Capcom certificate, presented by a representative from the gaming developer. Also at the event, BenQ will showcase its gaming monitor, the XL 2410T, in a Beat the Pro Challenge where gamers can go head-to-head against Yegor Markelov, one of the leading E-Sports players in the world from Team Navi. Dh5,000 prize is up for grabs. The two-day tournament is from 2pm-7pm daily.
