In Pyaar Impossible, Abhay Sharma (Uday Chopra) is the geek who does homework for classmates and silently pines for the most beautiful girl in the college, Alisha (Priyanka Chopra — no relation). Of course, he's invisible to her.
Seven years later, his simplicity causes him to lose his best invention, a software programme. He's gently prodded by his equally geeky father into going after the thief Siddharth Singh (Dino Moreo). His search brings him to Singapore and back to Alisha. Only this time she comes as a package — a desperate, nanny-seeking single mother of a naughty (read intolerant) six-year-old daughter, Tania (Advika Yadav). Alisha is the PR & Marketing head of the company that is buying Abhay's stolen programme from a certain Varun Sanghvi aka Siddharth Singh.
When Abhay is the only one who can get through to Tania, Alisha mistakes him for the nanny sent by the agency. The geeky father steps in again and advises him to forget the programme and simply go after the love of his life.
Soppy love story
With a university campus populated by mini-skirted girls and handsome guys doing everything except study, this soppy love story is yet another YashRaj film after the style of Karan Johar or Aditya Chopra. Uday Chopra's script and screenplay are a decent first effort, but would have benefited from a larger dose of humour though the movie picks up after the interval. Performances were good, with Priyanka Chopra being herself, Moreo managing to look and act the slimy Sanghvi and Uday Chopra surprisingly good at times. It is, however, Advika who critics feel has stolen the show, with her looks reminding audiences of the character Rahul in Masoom. Is it a coincidence Rahul was played by PI's director Jugal Hansraj?
The film is watchable, but I'd say keep it for rainy day DVD viewing at home.
