Who's in it? Katherine Heigl, Jason O’Mara, Sherri Shepherd, Debbie Reynolds
Rating 3/5
The plot Heigl has darkened her hair and thickened her accent to play Jersey girl Stephanie Plum (she’s not quite in Snooki territory though) in this romcom based on a novel by chick-lit queen Janet Evanovich. Newly unemployed and divorced, Plum lands a job at a bail bond business to get by – only to find that her first assignment is to bring in a wanted local cop with a reward of Dh183,000 – but, lo and behold, it turns out he’s her ex (kinda like The Bounty Hunter in reverse, no?).
The film is fast-paced and full of great one-liners courtesy of supporting cast members like Debbie Reynolds and Sherri Shepherd, and while most critics have panned it, we love us a good mindless romcom.
