The plot If you’re one of the hordes of people that went into a period of mourning when Lord Of The Rings wrapped in 2003, we have a new batch of JRR Tolkien’s classic fantasy novels on the big screen, except this time Peter Jackson has brought The Hobbit to life.

The first of The Hobbit’s three films to hit our screens (the second two are slated for release in 2013 and 2014), follows Bilbo Baggins (Freeman), yes Frodo’s pal from LOTR, who is drawn into an epic quest reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was lost by the dwarves years before when it was conquered by a dragon named Smaug.
Out of the blue the great wizard Gandalf the Grey (McKellen) approaches Bilbo, asking him to join a company of thirteen dwarves, led by warrior Thorin Oakenshield (Armitage). What follows is an enchanting and dramatic adventure that’s sure to please all fans of the previous trilogy, with familiar charaxters popping up again, like Elijah Wood’s Frodo Baggins, Cate Blanchett’s Gladriel and Andy Serkis’ Gollum, Peter Jackson’s second venture into the world of hobbits, dwarves and wizards does not disappoint.

We hope the Tolkien talk makes sense to you… if it doesn’t it’s just more reason to watch the movie, right?
