It seemed pop star Ronan Keating had managed to salvage his 14-year marriage after cheating on his wife with a dancer.
But the singer has now parted ways with Yvonne, 37, almost two years after admitting his affair.
The 35-year-old told friends the couple could not save their relationship despite trying to stay together for children Jack, 13, Missy, 11, and Ali, six.
A friend said yesterday: "They have both done their best to make it work, but they have not been able to.
"It's heartbreaking for them both. They're still living in the same house and, of course, their children come first, but they have split up."
Keating admitted in May 2010 he had an affair with backing dancer Francine Cornell, 28, after meeting her on Boyzone's 2009 comeback tour.
The Keatings — who met when they were children — appeared to have put the affair behind them following a brief split.
But Yvonne said she would not move to Australia, where Keating spends months filming Australian Idol.
Keating's spokesman declined to comment Monday.
