Layal's turning tight-fisted

One of the many New Year's resolutions that Lebanese singer Layal Aboud made is to stop being generous. "Being good-hearted is not a [good] quality when you are in showbiz. I had many problems with family and friends because of that. I misjudged a lot of people because I thought they were sincere, like me," she said.

"You need to have a heart of stone when you are in this business. You have to be a strong woman who wouldn't look behind and be able to step on people to reach your goals… I know I can never become like that."

Aboud said she "regrets all the bad moves in her life".

"But I know that I learned a lot at the same time. So I wonder why I have to regret? We are humans and we all make mistakes," she explained.

She also confessed that being intuitive helps her take some good decisions. "I feel things before they happen, and my premonition makes me decide what to do."

In the weeks to come, Aboud will release two singles, in Egyptian and in the Gulf dialect.

Zogby sings like an Egyptian

Lebanese singer Nawal Zogby will be singing the title song of the Egyptian movie Ibn Al Consol (The Consul's Son), starring Ahmad Sakka. This is Zogby's first venture in the Egyptian film industry. Meanwhile, Zogby also recently shot an episode of the variety programme Akher Man Yaalam to be shown on MBC channel in Beirut.
