Dubai: Bollywood actress Lara Dutta and ace tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi got engaged last week in the US and decided to break it to the world on twitter on Sunday.
An excited Bhupathi tweeted: "Lara and I got engaged in NY last week. So, its official now.” The former beauty queen followed her fiance’s footsteps by pasting his tweet on her twitter page. Though the couple has never openly talked about their relationship, the two have been making several public appearances recently, including the 2009 International Indian Film Academy Awards in Sri Lanka.
Rumour has it that Dutta preferred to keep their relationship private since Bhupathi was in the process of divorcing his first wife Shveta Jaishankar.
Dutta too has her share of break-ups, with model-turned-actor Kelly Dorjee and actor Dino Morea.
