Los Angeles: Adrien Brody is suing the makers of a thriller film for more than $2 million, claiming they haven't paid him and are releasing the movie in the United States without his permission.
The Academy Award winning actor sued the makers of Giallo last week in federal court in Los Angeles. Brody's attorneys asked a judge to block the film's release, but the request was initially denied.
Giallo was released for DVD sales on Tuesday.
Brody's lawsuit claims the filmmakers never paid him $640,000 and lied to him about the project's financing. The suit states that Brody has the contractual right to block the film's release until he is paid the salary and additional damages.
A phone message for defendant Hannibal Pictures was not immediately returned.
