"What has happened in Haiti is really terrible and I would strongly recommend the people of India reach out and help in every way possible," Khan said in Mumbai on Sunday, where an auction of Indian modern art was organised to raise funds for Haiti.
Khan supports Hope for Haiti, an organisation raising funds for the earthquake-affected people of the island.
"I think we should all do what we can to help people who have been through such a tragedy. I am here to support the cause," he said.
Asked if he wants to convey any message to the people of Haiti, he said: "I want to convey to them all my love and warmth. In times like this, people need to be strong and resilient. Such happenings are beyond our control and we should look inward for strength."
