Dubai Opera is the new home of an Arabic music festival dubbed DXBeats.

Kicking off its first edition on April 28, headliner Yasmine Hamdan, formerly of indie experimental duo Soap Kills, will be joined by Egyptian band Sharmoofers, Lebanese rockers The Wanton Bishops, Moroccan rapper-singer Manal and UAE-based hip-hop artist Moh Flow.

The eclectic line-up will take the 3,000-capacity audience through a range of genres, from pop and funk to jazzy blues, rap and reggaeton. The auditorium, usually seated, will transform into a flat-floor concert hall.

“DXBeats is about bringing the best Arab sounds from the region to Dubai’s best stage — with five incredible artists on the same bill playing to nearly 3000 fans, it’s going to be epic night and an incredible atmosphere,” said Jasper Hope, chief executive of Dubai Opera, in a statement.

Tickets, available from Dubai Opera’s official website, range from Dh275-Dh375.
