AABU DHABI Picking up a copy of XPRESS is now much more convenient than you think. The weekly newspaper is now available at all Lulu hypermarkets and supermarkets in Abu Dhabi after XPRESS newsstands were installed recently at Lulu outlets in Al Wahda Mall, Khalidiyah Mall, Mushrif Mall, Madinat Zayed Shopping Centre, Mazyad Mall in Mussafah and Al Raha Mall.

Launched in the capital two years ago to fill the obvious need for a community newspaper there, XPRESS Abu Dhabi has emerged as a popular read amongst expats and Emiratis alike.

When asked, shoppers said they were happy to pick up copies of their favourite community newspaper from their favourite shopping malls. “I look forward to reading XPRESS every Thursday because I always find stories that matter to the people and I am glad that I can now find it very easily,” Pakistani housewife Rukkaya Karim said.

Indian contracting manager Kunji Mohammad said he gets his XPRESS copy every Thursday from Lulu Hypermarket in Mushrif Mall.

“We do our weekly shopping from LuLu on Thursdays, and before leaving I make sure I pick up a copy of XPRESS from the newsstand for my weekend read. Before the newsstands were installed, I had to drive all the way to a petrol station on the Dubai-Abu Dhabi highway for a copy,” said Mohammad.

Commenting on the EMKE group’s association with XPRESS, Nandakumar V, Head of Corporate Communications said: “XPRESS is a popular tabloid in Abu Dhabi and we are happy to be associated with the paper.”

Distributed free of charge like its Dubai edition, the weekly tabloid is packed with community events and human interest stories with a generous dose of lifestyle and fashion.
