DUBAI As attractive car rental offers go, perhaps nothing comes remotely close to this deal – cars with lady drivers to boot.
To quell any curiosity on how the women chauffeurs look, the Dubai-based rental company has even put their pictures on its Facebook page.
One picture shows a 20-something girl, posing saucily in front of a black BMW sedan, wearing a micro mini denim short over a waist-length sleeveless spaghetti strap top.
Another image shows your would-be female travelling companion sitting on the bonnet of a Nissan SUV parked in the middle of a desert. Two blue heart-shaped icons conceal the vehicle’s Dubai-registration plate.
Posing as a customer, XPRESS called the du cellphone number mentioned alongside one of the photographs. The call was answered by a man who identified himself as Kamran. “Yes, you can book a lady driver for one day or more. The service is available 24 hours a day but do let us know two-three days in advance as there is a huge demand for them,” said Kamran. “All our female chauffeurs are below 30 years,” he added.
Kamran said he had a contract with a Deira-based car rental company. But when XPRESS called them, they denied having anything to do with Kamran or the Facebook page. “He is using our name, we have nothing to do with him,” said a staff. Kamran has since removed the Facebook page, saying it was a “big mistake”. “I was testing the market for lady drivers. It was a big mistake as people took it otherwise. They posted suggestive comments on the Facebook page and called me all day. My phone would just not stop ringing. I got tired of answering their queries,” he told XPRESS.
