Dubai UAE’s smart phone users can now find all essential locations, thanks to CALL UAE, a free mobile phone app with over 400,000 listings and 5,000 search categories.

Launched in Dubai on August 6, it is the UAE’s first ‘patented’ offline search engine for business data with emergency services, classifieds, tourist hotspots, entertainment and various company listings and essential helplines.

An app that works even without a mobile network, it also lets users enquire about RTA fines, Dubai Metro and airline timings and live currency and gold rates.

“Call UAE literally lets people carry the big fat ‘yellow pages’ on their phone absolutely free of cost,” said Aboobacker A Kodath, managing director of the Offline Mobile Business Directory LLC (OMBD) that runs similar city-based apps in India and has similar patents in 142 countries.

Along with business listings and essential services, the app also lets one dial directly as well as locate destinations with the help of maps that trace routes from user locations to desired destinations.

An estimated 17 million mobile phones are used in the UAE of which almost 12.4 million fall in the ‘smart phone’ category that can make use of this free app.
