ABU DHABI You’d be forgiven if you mistake this massive rectangular building in Musaffah for a new hypermarket.
Sprawled over 4,500 square metres, this is actually a hi-tech commercial laundry capable of washing and ironing more than a million items of clothing a week.
The Bubble Laundry, which started operations in the capital recently, is unlike anything you have seen before as it uses sophisticated electronic tagging systems, bespoke detergent mixes and innovative water reduction methods that were unheard of in the region until now.
KEEPING TRACK
A Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology enables customers to monitor and track each laundry consignment. Detergents can be tailored to the client’s needs as can the presentation and folds of washed inventory.
Seamus Desmond, Director at Bubble, said the laundry will cater to the hospitality sector.
“The UAE is famed for its luxury hotels, and now there is a world class laundry service capable of providing tailored, reliable and smart laundry solutions to that discerning market,” he said.
Since opening, Bubble has won contracts with many leading local and international hospitality brands such as Starwood, Accor and Rotana.
