Abu Dhabi Music fans in the UAE couldn’t have asked for a better New Year treat than the Rolling Stones performing at Abu Dhabi’s du Arena (Yas Island) on February 21.
The show is a kick-off for their 14 ON FIRE tour.
The tour will see Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood head back out on the road after a successful run of concerts in the US and UK this year. Mick Taylor, a member of the Rolling Stones from 1969-1974, will be a special guest.
With ground-breaking sets and cutting-edge technology, the show will feature video screens and special effects that will enhance the high-octane experience. An exclusive ‘Tongue Pit’ area inside the stage will give fans a 360 degree concert experience.
The band is expected to treat fans with classic Stones hits including Gimme Shelter, Paint It Black, Jumping Jack Flash, Tumbling Dice and It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll.
Mick Jagger said in a press statement: “Can’t wait to be back on stage, especially in Abu Dhabi, I am really looking forward to playing all your favourite songs and seeing you all very soon.”
Keith Richards added: “The best place in the world for me is out on that stage. Stand by everyone ... it’s back to where we belong, Me, Mick, Charlie and Ronnie and some friends all rocking out together. The wheels are in motion and we’re on our way … see you very soon!”
Tickets go on sale to the public on December 12 (www.ticketmaster.ae and select Virgin Megastores across the UAE). A two-day pre-sale starts from December 9. The limited general admission early bird tickets will start from Dh395.
