Abu Dhabi The fastest roller coaster and legendary sports cars may offer you the ultimate fun and adrenaline rush at the Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi. But the finishing point of your fun family outing would be incomplete without a traditional Italian meal at Mamma Rossella’s trattoria.
The restaurant is named after Giannini Rosella, an Italian mother and restaurateur who runs a family eatery outside the Ferrari factory in Maranello, Italy. Her finger-licking pastas and pizza have made her a household name among Ferrari drivers as well the company’s management team.
With its warm, friendly and open-air setting, the place strives to replicate an authentic Giannini Rossella dining experience for visitors to Ferrari World.
The restaurant has a pasta station, salad bar, pizza corner, grill station and dessert bar. After a garden fresh salad of rocket leaves, fresh cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, carrots, capsicum and baby potatoes with a generous drizzle of lime dressing and vinaigrette, we changed gear to enjoy a Swiss Chard Ravioli for the main course.
I was blown away by the thin delicate pasta, especially because the edges were well-cooked and did not leave clammy particles in your mouth. The Swiss Chard filling with ricotta cheese and parmigiano reggiano was made delicious with the infusion of herbs.
You can also flag off your dining with any of their Neapolitan pizzas baked in a traditional wood-burning oven. You can choose either individual slices for pre-cooked pizzas or get one tailor made with your choice of ingredients. The grilled tiger prawns with baby lettuce and cherry tomatoes were a true celebration of home-cooked Italian flavours. What made the dish extraordinary was the savoury sauce made of smashed tomatoes.
Desserts like Tiramisu, Crème Brule and chocolate cake brought our Ferrari World ride to a perfect stop.
