The second edition of the annual South Indian International Movie Awards, scheduled to be held on June 20 and 21 at Sharjah Expo Centre, has been postponed, organisers say.

“The entire South Indian film Industry i.e. Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada are organising a grand celebration in Chennai on the 12th, 13th and 14th of July on the auspicious occasion of 100 years of Indian cinema. Due to unavailability of big faces, SIIMA Management had to postpone their award giving ceremony to September,” said local organiser Dinesh Kumar Uggina, managing director of Anjan Group, in a statement. The new dates are yet to be finalised.

“We would like to apologise for postponing the date. Unfortunately, these were circumstances which were beyond our control but we intend to make the SIIMA Awards ’13 even more spectacular in September,” he added. Actors including Shriya Saran, Shruti Hassan and Rana Dugabatti were some of the names organisers had confirmed for the June ceremony.
