Shia LaBeouf: Never shy to speak his mind
The actor, never afraid to speak his mind, is busy promoting new film Lawless

In June, the actor went full-frontal in a music video for the band Sigur Ros. Last week, he revealed that he’s planning to have actual sex with his yet-to-be-determined female costar in an upcoming Lars Von Trier film.
But LaBeouf hasn’t just bared all on-screen — he doesn’t hold much back in interviews, either. After saying in 2010 that he thought he had “dropped the ball” with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, his relationship with the film’s director, Steven Spielberg, suffered. And we’re guessing he didn’t exactly endear himself to Hollywood after he spoke out about working within the studio system.
The 26-year-old says he knows his candour about the movie business may prove to be his undoing.
“I wish I prepared for these things,” he said last week, looking around at the red carpet premiere for his new film, Lawless, “and I don’t, which is probably the downfall of my career.”
LaBeouf, who is currently promoting the crime drama, will try to avoid making any further verbal gaffes as he heads to the Toronto International Film Festival next month. There, he’ll promote his new Robert Redford film, The Company You Keep, in which he plays a journalist.
To prepare for the role, he spent time with Los Angeles Times reporter Robert Faturechi and based his character on those experiences.
“I studied [Faturechi] for a while. That’s who I’m playing. He’s my muse,” he said.
