French siren Sophie Marceau on Wednesday said the recession in the film industry has more to do with a creativity-crunch rather than cash-flow problems.

The former Bond Girl, who was in Dubai as a brand ambassador for celebrated Parisian jewellers Chaumet, says though she is not personally affected by the recession, she hopes that filmmakers would push the boundaries with avant-garde ideas.

“I am getting some of the best roles of my career now. But generally, I feel that the creativity is drying up. It’s not just about the money problems. The whole world has been affected, but we need to beat the dark period by coming up with some interesting ideas,” says Marceau.

She is the face of Chaumet’s latest advertising campaign, which sees her unveiling a collection of dazzling jewels through an alluring love-at-first-sight encounter.
