Dubai’s annual Gulf Bike Week has a new home. The biking festival this year, its fifth, will now be held at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, and will run from October 24 to 26, organisers have announced.

Initially created as an event for bike enthusiasts, Gulf Bike Week has grown over the years into a major family event, with concerts headlined by A-list acts.

The late Amy Winehouse performed one of her last concerts in 2011 while bands including Megadeath, Daughtry, Nickelback, Deep Purple have graced the stage, held until last year at Dubai Festival City.

“The 2013 edition continues this concept, with the festival aiming to attract over 22,000 visitors for an action-packed weekend. With easy accessibility from different parts of the city, we believe that Dubai Media City’s lakeside park will prove to be an ideal location for hosting the event’s revised format of individual exhibitor tents and live entertainment throughout,” said Matthew Robarts, festival director at Clarion Events Middle East.

Performers for this year will be announced later this year.
