Demi Lovato will be coming back for a second season as an “X Factor” judge, it was announced Thursday, perhaps proving that it helps to be “really annoying.” “Had an amazing time overseas and so excited to come home and share the news that I’ll be returning to @TheXFactorUSA!!!,” the singer tweeted after the Fox announcement. As the Simon Cowell show enters its third season, she’ll be the first female judge to make it to two seasons in a row. Cheryl Cole got booted before things even really started, then Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were gone after the first season. Lovato and Britney Spears came on board for season No. 2, but Spears pulled out of her own accord after the season wrapped, amid rumors that she wouldn’t have been invited back anyway. Two-time panelist L.A. Reid gave his notice at the end of last season also. “I couldn’t be happier that Demi wants to come back this year,” Cowell said in a statement obtained by Pop & Hiss. “She’s a superstar in her own right and was a fantastic mentor last year. “Even though she can be really, really annoying — I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists. I’m especially pleased she’s back, even during her world tour!”
