The new Banana Republic Holiday Collection, which was showcased recently at the Armani Hotel, was inspired by Gramercy Park, a New York City neighbourhood. The locale combines the feel of a country town with the allure of an urban city and this echoed in the collection, perfect for the uber suave professional.

Collection previews: Gap and Banana Republic
The warmth of country and allure of an urban city come alive in the Holiday Collection
The collection had tweed jackets and a colour palette dominated by camel tones and browns. The grey flannels, sharp tailoring and dark overcoats captured the sophistication of a New York. The burgundy cardigan under a grey overcoat is ideal for a Christmas lunch while the red check shirt paired with a black jacket gets our nod for a swanky holiday dinner party.
The Gap Holiday Collection showcased last week at the Pavilion in Downtown Dubai is sure to make the preppy youngsters of Dubai happy.
Clean stripes in brown and tan, comfortable hoodies, straight jean with low slung leather and cloth bags screamed trendy daytime looks. Colour blocking one of summer’s favourite trends makes a transition to the cooler months with bright cardigans teemed with dark sport coats. We loved the turquoise blue jackets, olive green pullover mustard yellow jeans.
