The red Valentino gown worn by Colin Firth’s wife Livia at the 2012 Academy Awards will be auctioned at this year’s One Night to Change Lives charity event organized by Dubai Cares and Oxfam on December 14.
The dress, made using polyester recycled from plastic bottles, comes in a package that includes a chance to spend a day with editor of Vogue Italia, Franca Sozzani, and two nights’ accommodation at the Armani Hotel in Milan.
Other items to be auctioned at the event include a Chopard watch, Anna Loucah 18 carat white gold ring and earrings set and a painting from the Farjam Collection titled ‘Lute Player and Horse in Green’.
The Firths will be attending the gala along with Global Ambassador for Oxfam Kristin Davis, Rooney Mara, Amr Waked and Ali Moustafa.
Tickets at Dh2,000 (Dh20,000 for a table of 10) are available on 04-4456842 and onenighttochangelives.com.
