Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, Tanzania, is now open after refurbishing and rebranding. The lodge is the first for the brand in sub-Saharan Africa and will be followed by two properties planned in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and on the island of Zanzibar. With 77 guest rooms, including 12 suites with plunge pools and five villas with private swimming pools, each room has an elevated open-air sundeck, which provides views over the Serengeti. VIRGIN ATLANTIC OFFERS PAPERLESS CHECK-IN
Virgin Atlantic has integrated the Passbook app into its mobile boarding cards, allowing passengers a paperless journey through the airport with their iPhone or iPod touch. During the online check-in process, passengers can now bypass check-in kiosks and head straight to security or via baggage drop if carrying luggage. After using online check-in and selecting to send the boarding card to Passbook, an e-mail is sent to the passenger containing a Passbook attachment. As the attachment is opened, the boarding card is securely loaded into the app, as a standard barcode, ready to be scanned at the departure gates at Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester airports. Passbook and mobile boarding card technology is available to use at select airports around the world.
TILAL LIWA PACKAGES
Tilal Liwa Hotel is offering a special package (starting from Dh1,500) to celebrate the Al Dhafra Camel Festival, the biggest and the oldest traditional event in the UAE, featuring more than 2,000 camels of original Arabic progeny and a camel beauty contest, from December 15-30. The event, organised under the supervision of the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TAC), will also feature a traditional souk, a camel auction and various contests for traditional handicrafts, poetry, date-packaging and photography. STAYWELL HOSPITALITY GROUP OPENS HOTEL IN INDONESIA
StayWell Hospitality Group (StayWell), the owner and operator of the Park Regis and Leisure Inn brands will open its first hotel in Indonesia. Park Regis Kuta,Bali, will open in early 2013 and be located on Jalan Raya Kuta — a short distance to the main beach amid shopping districts, local attractions, nightclubs and restaurants of the popular Kuta area, The hotel comprises 175 guest rooms — including studios, junior suites and pool suites, alfresco café, restaurant, outdoor tropical swimming pool, fitness centre, day spa, business centre and car parking.
