Rihanna apologised Tuesday to journalists and fans who had joined her on her 777 Tour — a jaunt through seven countries for seven concerts in seven days. With that kind of plan, what could go wrong? Grabbing a seat in the back part of the aircraft, she’d kicked things off with a welcome and then not returned for a week. She said she was sorry for not spending more time with the crowd that had been tethered in her wake, apparently slowly going mad from lack of sunlight and sleep.

“I know you guys got barely any dirt,” she told the writers, according to Us Weekly, which had a reporter on the aircraft. “But I had to be good. I still sound [bad]. It’s impossible to spend time with everybody, and I’m sorry I didn’t. But this was excellent and I would definitely do it again.”

Rihanna said she had a sore throat and spent the bulk of her time on the aeroplane catching zzzz’s.

“I had to preserve my voice,” she told the mag. “I was worried about my body more than partying, so I had to just sleep whenever I could. I hope you guys had as much fun as I did.”

As they were reportedly summarily ignored, the jet-lagged journos in the back had turned to “fun” time-killers such as chanting “RiRi” and other less obvious mantras and making up “missing” fliers of the singer.
