Abu Dhabi: Two young Emirati cousins have gone missing in Munich, Germany, since Wednesday evening, with Emirati authorities saying they are following the situation closely to help locate the boys.

The two cousins -- Tawairesh Eissa Al Khailee and Ahmad Suhail Al Khailee -- were visiting Munich accompanied by Tawairesh’s older brother, Saeed Al Khailee.

A tweet asking for help in locating the two has been going around on social media. Munich is a popular European destination among Gulf tourists.

Gulf News has contacted both the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Ministry of Interior.

Officials said the information they currently have is from what they have seen on social media, and that they are trying to get more information from their German counterparts.

The family of the two young cousins, one of whom is a special needs child, have urged anyone with information to contact either the UAE embassy in Germany (00491755555552), or the brother Saeed Al Khailee (004915770054177).
