Abu Dhabi: A total of 141 unattended vehicles have been impounded from Abu Dhabi’s Musaffah and Mafraq industrial areas, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City announced in a statement issued on Sunday.

Thirty-one fines and 289 warnings were issued to owners of the unattended vehicles.

According to municipal Law No 2 for 2012, vehicle owners must keep their vehicles clean. A fine of Dh3,000 is applicable for leaving cars dirty and unattended in public spaces, and the fine is doubled for repeat offenders. If the vehicle is not attended to within three days of a municipal warning, the car will be towed, and owners will then also have to pay impound yard fees in order to retrieve it.
