Abu Dhabi: Residents and businesses wishing to set up tents in Ramadan must ensure that they obtain the necessary permits, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality announced in a statement sent today (May 1).
These include approvals from the Municipality, as well as from Civil Defence, utility providers and, in some cases, traffic authorities. In addition, tents cannot be set up on utility lines and private property, or in a location that blocks roads and accessways.
Fines of upto Dh10,000 will be issued to those who violate the regulations, and municipal inspectors conduct regular checks to ensure that health and safety standards are maintained at all Ramadan tents.
According to the Municipality, a total of 155 permits were issued for Ramadan tents in the capital in 2017.
