Often we convince ourselves on matters that strike our health based on concurrence. We are more likely to agree on something and work harder if we collectively have the same problem. Breast cancer awareness has created a form of solidarity, with such an intense message, it is likely one of the most successful messages out there. Furthermore, breast cancer has brought together its combatants in ways in which people without breast cancer may not be able to. What makes them unite and fight against this common enemy is their shattering experience with something so gruesome. It is their concern and wish to not see anyone else suffer the way they do, which makes them spread the word on matters like these. With everyone gaining awareness and taking a step towards prevention, breast cancer has seen a gradual reduction amidst both men and women. These days, various institutions aim towards educating their students on matters like breast cancer, which further causes a sense of alertness and therefore leads to the propagation of these ideas. For example, in my school, fellow students and I have planned some thought-provoking activities that I believe is the best way to incorporate entertainment and knowledge. For any child, teen or adult, a social message is only advantageous if it is conveyed through appealing ideas and a sizeable faction. All of it leading to the consensus of not just a particular group, but humanity as well. The successful outcome of breast cancer awareness wouldn’t have been possible without the far-reaching efforts of victims and supporters. Hence, I would like to conclude by leaving you with a quote to ponder upon by novelist Guy Gavriel Kay: “A hand fought best when it made a fist.”
