A small mind can become the rationale for a change. At the foremost, sustainable development with all its glory, gives us a definition; that development should take place without affecting the environment and, the development in the present should not hinder the future generations.

This ideally, throws light on what exactly naturalists expect development to be. But, for some reason, we are not achieving our definitive goals set by ourselves.

We have argumentative discussions regarding our detailed outlook on marine resources and organisms. What is their condition now? Are they facing a threat? These are some questions that the world’s many eco-warriors put forth. What are we, humans, who boast of being the known universe’s most intelligent organism, going to do about it?

Conservation of marine welfare is inversely proportionate to our needs and benefits obtained from the ocean. More the need, inefficient the marine security; lesser the need, better news for the turtles and the seaweed.

How can we balance our needs with the management of this precious ecosystem?

We have to be more cautious about the usage of plastic as they land in our oceans and seas or in the tummies of whales. What we are actually moving towards the extinction of many a hundred valuable marine species.

At the very least, while grocery shopping, opt for a jute bag, get a large one that can suit your capacity and is reusable.

Tons of solid, chemical wastes are being released by factories every year into the ocean, deteriorating the breeding capacity of marine animals and polluting the so-called “elixir of life”. Modern day green incinerators must be summoned and should be put into action by entrepreneurs so as to reduce the waste disposal into sea waters.

What about whale poaching? Hundreds of sailors and fishermen enjoy game-catches and many are forced to acquire more and more meat for food.

A series of awareness campaigns and a special team in every country’s maritime ministry must be decreed by the respective governments to put an end to the acts of these maritime murderers.

I suggest that an international ocean guard for the security of maritime resources must be formed to globally regulate the issue.

We really have to be cognizant in understanding the fact that, animals too are creatures created by His hands. Our humble effort could be picking up those plastic bags or the trash that is washed up on the seashores while walking down the beach during the weekends.

Young ones are always believed to be the most influential leaders of the planet, which means that, through their leadership in promoting awareness, we can surely make a change in the years to come.
