Dubai: Our youth organisation, Green Hope, believes that spreading awareness is one of the key ingredients in getting civil society involved in the march towards sustainability. World Environment Day, which was celebrated on June 5, reiterated this with the theme “One Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care”. The focus was sustainable consumption.
We were part of the awareness booth set up by Dubai Silicon Oasis at the Dubai Mall on June 5 and 6 and over these two days, we engaged with thousands of visitors about the need to move to a zero-waste lifestyle for the betterment of our planet. Visitors took an environment quiz and stuck their pledges on a “Tree of Hope”.
