One of the books that I read recently and absolutely loved is “Our Impossible Love” by Durjoy Datta. I had heard about this author quite a lot earlier but never tried reading his books. The first time I saw some of his books in a bookstore, I judged him heavily for his book titles after I came across, “Of course I Love You, Till I Find Someone Better” and “You Were My Crush Till You Said You Loved Me”.

I didn’t think I would actually ever read his books, until I heard some pretty good reviews about them from my friends. And finally when my mum told me to read his book, I definitely had to.

The story is about Danish who is constantly struggling to make a mark on society, but was unsuccessful in all his attempts, education or career. On the other hand, his smart brother always was a star in whatever he did.

Aisha, the female lead, is finding ways to deal with her adolescent self in different ways and not be ashamed of them, as most of the people are, in a country like India. The story is about how they meet, and somehow fit perfectly with each other, though he is one of the faculty members in the school where she was a student. I liked how they become friends, how he falls in love with her, how she has to face some crude behaviour from society and how Danish is always with her by her side.

I have not always come across love stories, which would hold much appeal to me, but this book made me cry and feel so very happy. The way he helped her in so many small ways and the way he felt for her was really something that would play with the reader’s heartstrings. Reading about their love story made my day.

This book taught me to be strong in all circumstances, in hard times, where we usually consider running away. It taught me to be clear and straightforward with your thoughts and the right people will come to you. You don’t have to constantly beat yourself up for making others happy. It finally taught me how love conquers all.
