Return the receiver

I had an unknown billing to my etisalat eLife account. Regardless I went to pay it in full and cancelled it, because I moved my location, and as I have been informed several times by their branch that I need to return the receiver unit. So I went to their branch at the Mall of the Emirates and they asked me to keep the receiver and that I have to pay for it. I told them there is no such thing mentioned in the terms and conditions or in the contract; and they clarified that they only say that to customers, which I have never been informed of before. I am seeking help to get what’s mine and not be scammed.
